The first order of business was the election of officers. Tim Gleason polled the members attending to determine if anyone was interested in running for any of the officer positions. There was no takers. Next, each current officer was re-nominated for his position with the exception of the vice president position. Members unanimous voted the following officers for 2000:

President – Tim Gleason

Vice President – Bob Moser

Treasurer – Bob Craig

Maintenance – Will Connelly

Flight Officer – Jaime Alexander

Secretary – Bob Dyer

Officer’s Reports

Treasurers Report (Robert Craig): All debits and loans have been paid. The engine fund balance is $10,172 and is current with the pawnee tach time. OSC has $2100 in the bank. Members owe OSC $2300 in outstanding fees.

Maintenance Report (Will Connelly): The Pawnee right brake is not working properly and needs to be fixed before any further tows. Pawnee might need a new cyclinder or a new block. L-13 has an AD on its tail mount which requires a fix within a year. The L-13 tail pin has been enlarged. Annuals – L-13 was completed in September, Pawnee due in February, 2-22 and 1-26 are due in January.

Operations Report (Jaime Alexander): Jaime recommended that OSC adopt the policy of setting club glider altimeters to field elevation.

 Old Business

Audio/Vario 1-26 – Rich Nicholson will investigate the problem and recommend a solution.

Cell Phone – Bob Craig was authorized to purchase a cell phone and calling plan for the glider trailer. Eric Brown has a bag phone that the club could use if it works.

Blanik Radio – By spring flying, add bracket for radio in rear seat and provide 12 volt power source at both brackets as well as an antenna connection.

Promotion – Bob Moser handed out an agenda for OSC’s next meeting in January where the main topic will be promoting the club. This meeting will be held on January 15th at StoneyBrook Professional Building 14344 Y St, Suite 102.

 New Business

Sale of 2-22 – Members voted to sell the 2-22 as soon as possible.

Purchase of replacement glider – This issue was tabled until the January meeting.

Replace Tractor – With the possibility of some major Pawnee maintenance, we will wait on replacing our tractor until further notice. If a good deal comes up on a golf cart, it will be brought to the board of directors for consideration.

The meeting was adjourned.

Update on 2-22 Sale

OSC has already had an offer on the 2-22 and it comes from a former member of the club. The offer was for $5000 and the buyer would pick it up. OSC members will help take the plane apart. No dates have been set.

OSC Promotion Meeting by Bob Moser

The next OSC meeting will be a lunch meeting on January 15th at 11:00 AM at StoneyBrook Professional Building, 14344 "Y" St Suite 102. A list of possible topics to be discussed at this meeting:

  • Membership number goals
  • Profitability
  • Growth or replacement aircraft fleet
  • Promote to pilots or public
  • Membership roster growth
  • Public outreach and visibility
  • Promote ourselves as a recreational source
  • Reasonable radius for promotion? 50 miles?
  • Mailing to pilot community
  • Winter schedules
  • Ad budget
  • Current Advertising activity
  • Membership roster
  • Pilot training courses offered free of charge
  • New literature
  • Promo rides to media

We need input from the majority of the club members to plot our future course, so we are looking for a big turnout for this meeting.

Flying Schedule

For the next couple of months we won’t formally schedule flying, but instead will set it up on a weekend by weekend basis. Bob Craig will set up flying prior to the weekend if one of the days on the weekend looks fly-able. If a club member wants to fly some other time let Bob Craig know or schedule it your-self. We should be back to our normal schedule by the 1st of March.
