Soaring in February...
Nice weather allowed OSC to fly 2 days in February.  One of the days had some very weak lift to get us thinking about Spring.   It was a very productive month with two members getting there safety flights done, one member soloing (Kent Orr) and giving 3 introductory rides.

Flight Operations Corner
It is the season to get the annual safety requirements done. If you did not get to the seminar and still need the video tape I have two copies of the safety seminar tape available for check out. They can be picked up at whatever our Sat. event is each week (or if you want to come by the house that's fine). Please try to return the next week. Right now both of my copies are "out" and I have one person on the next list. So it is best to contact me if you want one before coming out in hope of getting it. Also Bob Moser has one copy at his office for check out (ph 505-7102). Again it is best to call ahead as that copy may be out. When you do get the tape be sure you also pick up the quiz and a couple of handouts. Also you will need the new proposed by laws and a proxy statement. You can't do the quiz without referring to the Flight Rules Annex in the by laws. However don't pick up a by laws copy if you already have one. Remember also that the completion of the seminar requirement is dependent on me having your completed quiz in my possession.

The quarterly meeting is coming up on the last Sat. of March. We hope to pass the new by laws at that time so we need your proxy in by then (or your attendance at the meeting). So please send me your proxy. I expect the meeting will be at Blair Airport at 10AM on Sat. March 30.

Safety flights are in progress. Some are already done. Get yours completed at the first chance. Remember that I need to know if you did a safety flight. So if I didn't administer it, let me know it is complete.

Ground school is continuing on Sat. mornings when we can't fly, or don't have some pressing matter such as moving the 1-26 wing to CBF. I may however be out of town on Sat. March 23rd. Watch the emails and as usual the 9AM Sat. phone message.

About the Aircraft...
Plans to move the 1-26 wing to Council Bluffs were scrubbed due to the weather, but we'll be moveing that wing as soon as we are able.
Tow pilots keep an eye on the brake pads on the pawnee, we should be able to change them ourselves when they need service.
N99950 is due for annual in March, as is the Schweitzer's. Until we have more details from Bill, Both of our available gliders will be out of annual by the end of March.
I'll be cantacting Bill for a status on N9995Z.
